- March 2011 - On the 24th of February 2011 The British Steelwork Association (BCSA) has released an updated document with regards to model specification for the purchase of structural bolting assemblies and holding down bolts. Michael Carey as a member of the BCSA committee has been involved in the composition of this document. This document specifies that fasteners should be supplied using a colour coded system where the bag colour specifies the diameter of the product and the label colour specifies the protective treatment applied. We already comply with these requirements as we introduced this colour coded system. This document specifies requirements with regards to CE marking and highlights that suppliers and distributors are required to comply with the National Highways Sector Scheme 3 (NHSS3) when it comes in force in August 2011. (Please click here to see the updated Model Specification for Purchasing of Structural Bolting Assemblies and Holding Down Bolts.) By gaining both approvals for supplying CE approved preload (BS EN 14399) and CE approved non-preload (BS EN 15048) products and the National Highways Sector Scheme 3 approval, Andrews Fasteners complies with these requirements of the BCSA.
